Seeing Fish

Seeing Fish, ©1991, 5.5 x 2.25 x..75 inches, open. Copper, formica, sterling silver, fabricated, spiral bound. This little book was inspired by a book I found years ago, called Seeing Stars. It's a kid's book about the night sky, with stories about the myths the constellations represent. Seeing Fish is about the mythological beliefs of fish. Sold.

Pages 1 and 2 represent the myth Taking a bite from the moon. All the parts for this book were cut out with a jeweler's saw and riveted together. The pages are a double thickness of black formica.

Pages 3 and 4 represent the myth Flying.

Pages 5 and 6 represent the myth Giving Birth to the Universe.

Pages 7 and 8 represent the myth Eating the Earth (The End of All Time).
